Mission
. . . increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. -Luke 2:52
Wisdom and Stature
- It is our goal to teach our students to seek, understand, value, apply, and communicate the necessary truths for a successful life.
Favor with Man
- We aim to produce students who will exhibit those character traits of honesty, integrity, kindness, respect, and responsibility.
Favor with God
- Most importantly, we hope to encourage each student to develop a personal, dynamic, and ever closer relationship with the Lord.
Program
Independent Baptist Academy uses the Abeka Video School program for all grade levels. Abeka video provides a Master level teacher for all instruction. By using this phonics-based curriculum, students learn to read in Kindergarten. Other advantages include cursive instruction and traditional arithmetic. Visit abeka.com for more information.
In addition to video teachers, three on-site teachers provide additional training. On-site teachers are experienced and skilled educators who provide reinforcement, review, and guidance. Sample videos, books, and assignments are available upon request. We provide K5- 12th grade instruction. In order to create an exciting and well-rounded school experience, fun days and field trips are included in our academic calendar.
IBA does not provide special educational classes. Parents who enroll their students at IBA should understand that they are waiving their rights to some or all of the special education and related services that their child would receive if enrolled in a public school under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Accreditation
We are able to offer accreditation at the secondary level through the Abeka Video program for an extra yearly fee of $200. Accreditation is recommended for college-seeking seniors.
Statement of Faith
The Holy Scriptures- We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally and plenarily inspired Word of God.
The Godhead- We believe in one triune God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, coequal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections.
The Person and Work of Christ- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son, of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and, that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead.
The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit- We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment; and that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.
The Total Depravity of Man- We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God; but that in Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God.
Salvation- We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.
The Eternal Security and Assurance of Believers- We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever.
The Church- We believe that the local church, which is the body and the espoused bride of Christ, is solely made up of born-again persons. We recognize water baptism and the Lord’s Supper as the Scriptural ordinances of obedience for the church in this age.
Separation- We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Saviour and Lord.
The Second Advent of Christ- We believe in that blessed hope, the personal, imminent return of Christ, Who will rapture His church prior to the seven-year tribulation period.
The Eternal State- We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment.
The Personality of Satan- We believe that Satan is a person, the author of sin and the cause of the Fall of Man; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man.
Creation- We believe that God created the universe in six, literal, 24-hour periods.
